Once you have chosen your topic and analyzed it, you should proceed to the next stage – brainstorming key ideas of your essays and term papers. The word brainstorming is usually used to denote a process of a very intensive mental work on a particular topic. If you are new to this process, try the following scheme and you will have no problems with it.
Start off by asking yourself questions like:
“What is the topic about?”, “What will be described in it?”, ”When the events will be taking place?”, etc.
Grab a piece of paper and write everything that comes into your head. At this stage you shouldn’t put your notes in a particular order, but just write everything that you can think of.
Once you think that you have written enough ideas, you should read the list carefully, find the words that have something in common and unite them together. Then see how they correlate with each other and whether they are relevant to the topic or not. If you can see that they can be used, try to make a sentence out of them. Repeat the procedure until you run out of the notes.
Once the brainstorming and selection process is completed, you should arrange the sentences you have written in an essay outline. Brainstorming is not the easiest task, but it is a very important step that will help you to write great essays and term papers without putting too much time and effort into it.
